To start out, let's start with the Seven Major Goals
of the Constitution. They are...
- Popular Soveriegnty-People are the
source of governments power.
- Republicism-People elect their political
representatives.
- Limited Government-The Constitution limits the actions of government
by specfically listing powers it does and does not have.
- Federalism-Power was divided between national and state goverments.
- Separation of Powers-Three branches of government has its own
responsibilities.
- Checks and Balances-Each branch of government bolds some control
over the other two branches.
- Individual Rights-The basic liberties and rights of all citizens
are guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.
