To start out, let's start with the Seven Major Goals of the Constitution. They are...
 
  1. Popular Soveriegnty-People are the source of governments power.
  2. Republicism-People elect their political representatives.
  3. Limited Government-The Constitution limits the actions of government by specfically listing powers it does and does not have.
  4. Federalism-Power was divided between national and state goverments.
  5. Separation of Powers-Three branches of government has its own responsibilities.
  6. Checks and Balances-Each branch of government bolds some control over the other two branches.
  7. Individual Rights-The basic liberties and rights of all citizens are guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.
